An even longer hiatus.

Keeping up with this blog was more difficult than I expected during the holidays. But I'll be back in 2010 (tomorrow). :)

Happy New Year, everyone!

Day 9-12

The hiatus lasted longer than I had wanted. I got home from my mom's and had to pack and head up to Central Florida to visit the husband's family. I had a feeling this blog would be hard to keep up with during the holiday, but I always have my camera at my side, so the pictures will come eventually. :)

Hiatus.

I haven't forgotten about my beloved photo blog. I'm out of town, at my Mom's house. I brought my camera but forgot the USB cord for it (d'oh!), so I will have a big picture post when I get home tomorrow night.

I am looking forward to experimenting with my new zoom lens too!

Check back soon. :)

Day 7-8

I didn't take any pictures yesterday because honestly, I just didn't feel up to it.  I don't want this to ever feel forced or begin feeling more like a chore than a hobby. But I promise if I skip a day, I'll post two the next, so no matter what happens, I will have 365 pics by the end of a year.

I will also only post the picture details (ISO, shutter speed, F-stop, etc) when I can remember it. I wish my camera stored that info for each pic. I am hopelessly absentminded. And I adjust my stops and speeds so much it's difficult to keep track.

Anyhow, here you go! Day 7 and 8ish.

Date: 12/18/09
Subject: My reflection in my husband's sunglasses
Location: Dunkin Donuts in Lauderhill. We stopped there for breakfast on our way to Tate's Comics.

Day Six.

Date: 12/17/09
Subject: A dying flower in the rain. Wow. How emo does that sound? I thought I'd take advantage of the monsoon currently beating down on South Florida.
Location: Outside my apartment building.
Details: I was too focused on not getting my camera wet and holding my giant umbrella to pay attention to my camera settings! Click to enlarge. The water droplets are pretty. :)

Ideas for reducing noise in dimly-lit, no-flash photography?

Introduction.

If you're here, you probably already know me. But if, by chance, you've stumbled onto this blog, allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Judy. I'm a twenty-seven year old independent filmmaker and wannabe photographer. I live in Hollywood, Florida with my filmmaker husband. We are in the process of setting up a production company and are already working on freelance projects all over South Florida. In my spare time I watch an insane amount of movies and review many of them on my filmmaking blog, here.

I have decided to document my life in pictures.

One picture. Every day. Starting today.

Constructive criticism is always welcome. I am interested in learning new techniques and perfecting old ones. I have a Nikon D60 Digital SLR. I hope to take every picture using only Manual settings.

That's all you need to know for now. The images I post will tell the rest of my story.
