It seems like the Powers that Be really don't want me to update this blog regularly. There always seems to be something getting in my way (ok, I admit it, it's usually my own doing).

This time, I left my memory card in my mother's computer and my camera is useless without it. So I either have to wait until I buy a new memory card or go retrieve mine from mom's (and she lives an hour away).

I am not usually so absentminded. I will be better about this, damnit!

Day 20-21

Subject: A blue heron in a tree
Location: The Anhinga Trail in the Florida Everglades National Park.

The heron picture was interesting to me because I shot it at twilight when the sky was that gloomy and the tree was in silhouette. I didn't desaturate it at all. There was no color in real life either.

Also, my watermarks look different for the moment, as I don't have internet access here so I'm using Picasa on my mother's PC to resize and watermark photos.

Day 19.

I took this picture with my iPhone because I was in a rush this morning. But I'm posting for the subject matter, not the style.

Subject: Some of the food I'm donating to Haiti. I don't have money to spare, but I wanted to give what I could. It ended up being about 4 bags of canned goods and non-perishables. I hope it helps.

Subject: My Nike + iPod sensor (orange and white piece), the spongy place-holder I removed from my shoe (orange), and the user manual.

I highly recommend the iPod sensor, by the way. It helps me keep track of how far and how long I've been walking/jogging and has really cool features.

Subject: A bastardized version of strawberry shortcake that my mom used to make for me. Shortcake shells, strawberries and half & half. That's it. It's amazing. I ate this shortly after midnight on New Years Day

Subject: There isn't anything technically or creatively special about this picture. But I wanted to capture the moment because it was wonderful. Hubby and I spent NYE alone on the beach in Hollywood, watching fireworks in every direction. It was perfection.
